Tortellini Soup Recipe

A Soup In A Mug Gift

This tortellini soup recipe is meant to become a gift. Think about those people on your gift list that you want to remember with a small gift -- teachers, neighbors, your mail person, hairdresser, etc. If you make several at the same time it becomes an even more frugal gift. Simply purchase several mugs that will hold at least 1-1/2 cups at your local dollar type store. You will also need small plastic food bags and twistie ties; make it more decorative with curly ribbon, twine, or raffia to attach a gift tag and directions.

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup dried tortellini
1-1/2 teaspoon dry chicken bouillon granules
1-1/2 teaspoon dry grated parmesan cheese
pinch of oregano, basil, or Italian seasoning

Mix the above ingredients in a small bowl. Spoon mixture into a small plastic storage bag. Seal the bag and place inside the mug.

Attach the following preparation instructions:

Tortellini Soup Mix

1 tortellini soup mix
1-1/2 cups water

Place soup mix and water in small saucepan and stir to mix. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until tortellini are soft to your liking.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Add one of more of the following to the mix before placing in the plastic bag: dried onion flakes, parsley flakes, or minced sun-dried tomatoes. The red sun-dried tomatoes add some eye appeal.
