Theme Gift Baskets
Unique Homemade Gift Basket Ideas
There are so many different theme gift baskets that I decided to write up some limited information for several unique themes for gift baskets.
Angels: This is a wonderful idea for the "angel in your life" or for all those angel lovers. Fill a small wicker basket or other container with angel theme gifts such as a book, piece of jewelry, figurine, picture frame, stationary or notepad, scented candles, and an angel figurine. Then fill in the empty spaces with their favorite candy, cookies, or other treats.
Beauty: Teenage girls would love beauty theme gift baskets. Cosmetic organizers, small wooden crates, and baskets are all appropriate containers.
Include gifts such as any kind of makeup, nail care products, facial cleanser, cotton balls, makeup remover pads, q-tips, hand/body lotion, pretty bars of soap, emery boards, hair brush, hair care products, tweezer, gift certificate for facial, manicure, or haircut, beauty book or issue of a magazine related to beauty, fashion, or hair care.
Boating: Great gifts for men! Some unusual containers for boating theme gift baskets are unbreakable baskets, pails, and basins. Include gifts like a compass, photo frame with a boat motif, ship in a bottle, insect repellent, anything with a boat theme, snack foods, nuts, and beverages.
Bon Voyage: Great gifts for couples! Select a wicker basket or canvas tote bag as the container. There are so many possible gift ideas and here are just a few: travel coffee mug, travel alarm clock, travel candle, reader's light, disposable camera, lint roller, travel mirror, maps, book of stamps, travel size toiletries, snack food, candy, nuts, and beverages. When choosing gifts for Bon Voyage theme gift baskets, select items that are appropriate for their destination. For example, if they are going to be spending time on the beach include sun tan lotion, a sun visor, etc.
Books: Theme gift baskets are great ideas if you have an avid reader on your gift list. Large coffee mugs, baskets, wooden crates, and gift type shopping bags are all good containers.
Select a unique book, a blank book, journal, or a gift certificate to their favorite book store. Also, include snack foods, nuts, cookies, instant coffee, tea bags, book markers, pens, pencils, stationary or note pads, a reader's battery operated light, scented candles, or a paperweight.
Cappuccino: A wooden crate or basket would be easy containers to work with. Some gift suggestions are expresso coffee (beans or ground), coffee bean grinder, milk frother, coffee scented candle, cinnamon or nutmeg, small bottle of coffee liquer, biscotti, truffles, or chocolate covered expresso beans.
A nice finishing touch is to make these
chocolate coffee spoons.
You can either place them in the theme gift baskets or tie into your bow.
Candles:
Candle gift baskets
are very special gifts for women who enjoy pampering and relaxation. It's rather easy to turn this gift into a holiday or special occasion theme. Simply use candles, candle holders, scented oils, potpourri, etc. with colors of fragrance indicating the theme. If your gift is for Christmas, use red and green candles and scents associated with Christmas. Or, use only gifts of her favorite fragrance such as lavender, gardenia, etc.
Cocktails: You could use an ice bucket or small cooler as the container. Personalize cocktails theme gift baskets by using their favorite liquers.
Some other gift suggestions are coasters, cocktail napkins, swizzle sticks, paper umbrellas, shot glasses, bottle pourers, bottle or can opener, corkscrew, cocktail strainer, drink mixes, and a jar of cherries or olives or cocktail onions.
These are just a few ideas. Of course, you can always include well-packaged snack foods.
College Students: Choose useful containers for these theme gift baskets...something they can use in their dorm room as an organizer. You can include gifts with their school logo such as a cap, mug, keychain, banner, etc. Add note pads, stationary, envelopes, stamps, or a pre-paid calling card so they have no excuse not to contact you.
Address and place a stamp on the envelopes as an additional hint. Include an alarm clock, a battery operated reader's light, gift certificate to a stationary or book store, and don't forget the ready-to-eat food and drinks; soup mixes, hot cereal, granola bars, hot chocolate mix, instant coffee, tea bags, snack foods, and whatever is their favorites.
Computer Geeks: Computer theme gift baskets would make a nice surprise for anyone who loves their computer. Great gifts for men!
If your budget is limited, go to your local dollar-type store and look around for a container; you will probably find small baskets, gift shopping bags, and large coffee mugs.
Include some of these gifts: a mouse pad, wrist rest, new mouse, computer clamp on light, computer vacuum, anti-static wipes, a free aol or other internet provider CD, blank floppy disks or CDs, a power strip, a computer manual, magazine, and anything you can find with a computer theme. Check note pads, baseball caps, etc.
Fruit baskets: Fruit theme gift baskets are always a good choice; who doesn't enjoy fruit? It's a nice gift basket idea for a group of people, such as a family or office staff. Choose a wicker basket based on the size needed. Remember that an overstuffed basket looks the best. Place some straw or other filler material in the bottom of the basket and fill it with fresh fruit, dried fruit, and some cookies or chocolate candy. Use nuts in the shell to fill in empty spaces. If desired, place your completed fruit basket in a cello bag and add a bow and gift card at the top.
Get Well: Start by choosing a container; a large coffee mug, soup mug, basket, flower pot, or a wooden crate are all nice containers.
Use gifts that will make the patient feel better; a puzzle book, favorite magazine or book, tv remote control, a deck of playing cards, cd of smoothing music, hand lotion, small box of tissues, scented candles, hand lotion, cough drops, tea bags, gourmet coffee, dried fruit, candy, cookies, or their favorite treats.
Good Luck: These are sweet theme gift baskets that will show your best wishes to anyone for most occasions: new job, new home, new baby on the way to name a few.
Any kind of basket, a wooden crate, or a gift bag would make a good container. Choose gifts that are meaningful to the recipient.
There are many good luck symbols such as a four leaf clover, horseshoe, an angel, a ladybug, or a heart. Look for gifts with any of these symbols and include candles, and their favorite candy, cookies, or other treats. Look for a paperweight with a meaningful symbol or words.
Grandparents: Since I'm the grandmother of five delightful children I know how much grandparents enjoy gifts from grandchildren. For me it's about the thought and that personal touch instead of the cost.
Choose a container that is appropriate for the amount of gift and food items you plan to include. Some of the memorable gifts I have received are pictures of grandchildren in frames, small photo album with family pictures that fits in my handbag, family video, scented candles, and bubble bath. Also, my favorite chocolates, cookies, music cd's, herbal teas, gourmet coffee.
Gift certificates are nice additions ... such as to a restaurant, take out food, the movies, a spa, or whatever they would enjoy. If your children are younger, make sure to include some of their precious artwork.
Handyman: In this case, I think the container can be the best gift of all; some suggestions are an open wooden tool box, a galvanized pail, large coffee mug, or a beer stein.
Gift ideas for handyman theme gift baskets: tools, work gloves, flashlight, tape measure, can cooler, bandaids, first aid kit, energy bars, energy drinks, snack foods, and cans of beer or soda.
Hiking: A backpack is a good container as it's a great gift by itself. Stuff the bottom with brown paper so the gifts show out the top of the backpack.
Include gifts such as maps, a compass, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, first aid kit, snack foods, candy, nuts, and beverages in cans.
Meditation/Zen: Wonderful theme gift baskets for anyone who meditates; they would be very pleased with some of these gifts: floating or scented candles, incense, incense burner, angel or yoga cards, book relating to meditation, crystals, wind chimes, herbal teas, candy, nuts, etc.
A nice gift container would be a bowl for floating candles; don't forget to include some pebbles in the bottom.
Tea: A small wooden crate, a wicker basket, or serving tray are good containers for tea theme gift baskets.
There are many gifts that are appropriate; here a some of them: tea ball, tea bag holder, tea bag squeezer, tea infuser, honey ball, small jar of honey, sugar tongs, sugar cubes, herbal teas, iced tea mix, biscuits, melba toast, jellies/jams, dried fruit, shortbread cookies, chocolates, citrus scented candle, or a pretty tea towel.
