Homemade Popcorn BallsHomemade popcorn balls are nice food gifts to include in homemade gift baskets. They are particularly appropriate for
movie gift baskets. 
1 quart popped popcorn3 ounces peanuts, mixed nuts, or your favorite nuts 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup water Place the popcorn and nuts in a large pot and stir well to mix. Combine the remaining ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches 290 degrees on a candy thermometer. Pour this mixture over the popcorn and nuts and stir gently to coat well. Roll into the appropriate size balls that will fit into your gift basket and allow to cool on waxed paper. Wrap in plastic or cello wrap and add colorful raffia, narrow ribbon, twine, or curly ribbon. Makes about one dozen.
