Lemon Dill Vinegar Recipe

Make this delicious vinegar to include in a homemade gourmet gift basket. Pour it into a decorative bottle, add a label and tie raffia around the top.

dill vinegar Ingredients:
  • 2 cups cider vinegar
  • 1 lemon with peel, quartered
  • 1/2 cup packed, fresh dill
  • pinch of salt
Heat vinegar in a non-aluminum saucepan until very hot, but DO NOT boil.

Place lemon quarters, fresh basic, and salt in a non-metal bowl. Cover with hot vinegar.

Cool to room temperature and cover with plastic wrap; store in cool place for two days. Strain and discard lemon and dill.

Pour vinegar in sterilized bottle with non-metal lid. Add springs of fresh dill, if desired.

OPTION: If you prefer another herb, substitute basil, oregano, or chives for the dill.
