Lavender Oil Recipe
This lavender oil recipe is easy to make. Works well as a massage oil or for making bath products. Substitute other flower petals such as lilac, gardenia, rose, etc.
In addition to using fresh picked flowers, you can also use flowers in your garden that begin to wither. This is a great way to prolong their lovely fragrance.
To make this oil you will need a non-metal container with a lid and one cup each of olive oil (or vegetable oil) for each cup of lavender petals. The process for making the oil is:
- Place the flower petals in the container.
- Pour the oil over the petals.
- Cover the container and place it in a cool, dark place for at least a week.
When the oil is to your liking, strain through a wire colander, discard the petals, and pour the infused oil into a clean, dry bottle with a cork or lid.
