An Ice Cream Gift Basket
An ice cream gift basket is one of my favorite food themes. It's a great idea for most people for many occasions or special events.
If you have a limited budget, visit your local dollar type store or discount department store. Look for a large colorful bowl as the container; baskets and small wooden crates work well, too.
Then follow these assembly directions to create your own
ice cream gift basket.
In addition to step-by-step assembly ideas, you'll find filler product suggestions, decorating tips, and dozens of ideas to personalize your all of your homemade gift baskets.
Fill the container with small ice cream bowls, a scoop, sundae spoons, a box of cones, chocolate syrup or other toppings, chopped nuts, sprinkles, a jar of Maraschino cherries, shortbread or other cookies.
If the occasion is a birthday include candles for the cake and theme paper napkins. You could also include a chocolate or sugar cookie scented candle.
Another idea is to make and include your own
cookie-jar-mix.
I've included layering steps and gift decorating ideas, too.
Or, if you could add some homemade chocolate cookies. Here are two
two easy and yummy recipes
I've used. The recipes are for "Secret Kiss Cookies" and "Peanut Butter Cup Cookies.
Fudge Sauce Recipe
This is an easy recipe to make and include in an ice cream gift basket.
Ingredients:
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
Combine all ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes or until hot. Beat with wire wisk until chocolate is melted and sauce is smooth.
After the sauce has cooled, pour into a clean, dry jar with a cover. Add a label that indicates that the jar contains Fudge Sauce and to refrigerate.
If you want to decorate the jar, tie raffia or ribbon around the jar cover and include a gift tag.
