Homemade Wine Gift Baskets

With Fresh Fruit, Cheeses, and More

wine gift basket

Homemade wine gift baskets are nice gifts for a wine lover for any occasion. It's a great gift for men -- even your boss. Think about Father's Day, birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.

Baskets with a handles are easier to assemble; tie the neck of a wine bottle to the handle. Ice buckets and wine coolers are nice containers also.

For a decorative touch, place the wine bottle in a wine bottle bag before placing it in the gift basket. These bags can be made of netting, foil, or paper. Choose the right color bag and ribbon to enhance the overall beauty of your completed gift basket.

If this is your first attempt at making a gift basket, you may want to read through my web page that outlines the process of making gift baskets. You will also find directions to make several different style of bows, filler product information, and dozens of ideas to personalize all of your homemade gift baskets and theme gift baskets.

Here are some gift suggestions you may want to include in your homemade wine gift baskets:
  • bottles of wine, corkscrew

chocolate covered strawberry Wine and Fruit Baskets: Another twist on homemade wine gift baskets is to make wine and fruit baskets. Colorful fruits such as oranges, apples, pears, etc. are very eye appealing. Add dried fruits, chocolate covered fruits such as blueberries, cherries, or homemade chocolate covered strawberries.

Add a bunch or fresh green and red grapes if you are presenting your wine and fruit gift basket in person. This is an inexpensive way to fill in empty spaces as well as adding color to your gift basket.

If you are making a gift basket for someone who enjoys sangria, include an apple, peach, orange, lime, and a lemon with a bottle of white wine.

For those who prefer mimosa cocktails, include gifts such as a bottle of champagne, two flutes, fresh oranges, and a small bottle of orange liqueur such as Grand Marnier.

Add a can of Baker's Dipping Chocolate for dipping sliced fresh fruit (or whole fresh strawberries) in wine gift baskets that include fresh fruit.
