Homemade Tea Gift Baskets

Homemade tea gift baskets would be wonderful gifts for any holiday or special occasion for tea lovers. They are very thoughtful gifts for anyone who is "under the weather" or as hostess gifts. You can personalize these gifts and make them for one or more people; or for a man or woman.

A white wicker tray or pretty flower pot would be lovely gift containers for a woman. While a natural wicker or wire basket would be more appropriate for a man. Small wooden crates would work well also.

If you've never made a gift basket before, you may want to visit my how to make gift baskets page for detailed step by step directions: unusual filler suggestions, lovely decorating tips, unique container ideas, and learn how to tie bows.

A great place to shop for inexpensive items are dollar type stores. There are two of these stores within walking distance of my home and I have purchased small baskets, shred to use a filler, bows, curly ribbon, pet toys, baby toys, candles, and small many other gift items to place in various theme gift baskets.

Some gifts that would be nice for homemade tea gift baskets are tea bags, loose tea, a tea ball, tea bag holder, tea bag squeezer, tea infuser, a small teapot, tea cup and saucer, a tea towel or cloth napkins to line the basket of whatever container you have chosen. Add some small edible items, too; sugar cubes, sugar tongs, a small jar of honey, a honey ball, jams, or preserves, tea biscuits, shortbread cookies, scones, or other cookies. If you are a baker, why not include some homemade scones, muffins, or cookies.

My favorite way to add some color is to include a few fresh lemons at the last minute out the basket; look for lemons that have that delightful lemony fragrance. A citrus scented candle works, too.

Use these recipes for Spiced Tea Mix, Blueberry Scones, or Tea Cookies Mix-In-A-Mug to place it in your homemade tea gift baskets. Actually, any one of these items in a small wicker basket lined with a tea towel or fabric napkin would be a lovely, inexpensive gift without adding anything else.

The ideal gift basket is a personalized one. Include a little gift that relates to something the recipient will enjoy; a small box of chocolates for the chocolate-lover, a book for the reader, cd for music lover, etc.
