Homemade Spa Gift Baskets
Gift Baskets for Women on Any Occasion
Homemade spa gift baskets bring the words pampering, relaxation, and romance to mind. One of those three words has to fit every woman you know. Besides family and friends, make these gift baskets for teachers, coworkers, your hairdresser, etc.
If you have never made your own gift basket, homemade spa gift baskets are a good place to start. The items are easy to arrange in a basket and can fit into most budgets.
Trays and wooden crates work well as containers, but baskets are better because she can use it to store her spa items. Another attractive and useful container is a round hat box with a matching lid. After you have filled it with gifts, simply tie a wide ribbon around the hat box.
If you have an unlimited budget, use a high-quality basket and load it up with decadent spa gifts, a piece of jewelry, or her favorite perfume.
For less expensive homemade spa gift baskets, shop at your local dollar-type store. They usually have baskets, wooden crates, silk flowers, and bath items at very reasonable prices. Or, make your own bath products with these
recipes and finishing tips.
When choosing gift items to place in your
homemade spa gift baskets
keep the recipient's preferences in mind. Some generic gift items that would be appropriate for anyone are:
- scented soaps, candles, potpourri or
sachets
- incense, incense holder
- body scrub, loofah, exfoliating bath glove, or mesh glove
- body/hand creme, bath salts or crystals
- shower gel, bubble bath
- body brush, gel eye-pack, neck pillow
- spa slippers, plush towel or wash cloth
- gift certificate for massage or facial
- CD of romantic music, meditation tape, or a book of poetry
- picture frame with a photo of a special person
- small bottle of wine or champagne
- gourmet coffee or tea
- chocolates or cookies (wrapped well so they don't pick up scents)
Tips For Making Spa Gift Baskets:
- Scented items of the same fragrance (her favorite) is extra special. Gardenia and lavender are lovely and readily available. Create homemade spa gift baskets with items of the same scent.
- Food items should be in well-wrapped and sealed so fragrances don't seep into the food.
- Use a silver-colored tray as the container. Remember that old saying "on a silver platter"? She'll love the thought even if it's not real silver.
- This is a lovely idea, which I have made several times. Use a plain, clear glass pitcher as the container. Place plenty of decorative shred in the bottom of the pitcher; not only will this help hold your gifts in place, but the items won't scratch the pitcher. Include scented candles, a mesh bath sponge, bars of soap, or any other bath items. Since this is breakable I present the gift in a gift type shopping bag surrounded with lots of tissue paper.
