You don't have to be a baker to put together a basket of gingerbread gifts. When it gets close to the holidays, you will notice gingerbread theme items everywhere. This is one of my favorite gift baskets because it works for most people of all ages. It's a great choice for teachers, family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. Start by choosing a container for your gifts. A wicker basket with a handle or a small wooden crate are both good choices. If you are making this gift basket for a baker, you might want to consider using a mixing bowl. Putting together gingerbread baskets can be really simple and inexpensive. Use a small wicker basket, holiday tin, wooden crate, or even a holiday gift bag. Place some kind of red or green filler material in the container; use a scissor to cut thin strips of tissue paper or Christmas gift wrap is fine. Place homemade or store bought gingerbread treats (cookies, muffins, etc.) in individual transparent bags, tie the bags closed with curly ribbon and arrange in the container.
