Flower Pots -- Special Containers For Gift Baskets
Are you looking for unique gift ideas? Flower pots just might be your answer! They make great containers for many different theme gift baskets. Although round clay pots are the most commonly used, ceramic and plastic are nice options. If using plastic, place some small stones in the bottom so it doesn't tip over.
When planning to make gifts using flower pots to hold the gifts, it's nice to work with a theme based on holiday or special event or a hobby or special interest of the recipient. For example:
For a new baby, choose a pastel flower pot and add coordinating shredded tissue paper or purchased shred. Add a rattle, bibs, pair of booties or baby socks, hair brush, comb, teething toy, and other small gift items. Roll bibs, baby wash cloths, and similar items so they fit upright in the container.
An assortment of spa gifts are great gifts for birthdays, Mothers Day, Valentines Day, and other special occasions. Straw is a nice filler as it looks nice and helps keep the gift items in place. Add an variety of bath salts, lotions, bubble bath, body wash, lotion, or other bath and body gift items all of the same fragrance.
If you are making this gift for a coffee or tea drinker, include several small packets of gourmet coffee or herbal tea bags in the container. Add a couple of individually wrapped biscotti to gift your finished gift some height and then fill in any gaps or empty spaces with individually wrapped hard candy or chocolates; lemon drops are nice when using a tea theme.
Let's not forget those who enjoy gardening or even house plants. Place some straw or shredded brown paper in first and then add garden tools, packets of seeds, flower bulbs, gardening gloves, and other small garden items. Add some silk greenery or small flower for a decorative touch.
Another ideas is as a container for an assortment of barbecue items. Start by placing wood chips for the grill in first and then add bottles of barbecue sauce and dry rub. Include a pair of thongs, a hot mitt, basting brush, and other small items that are helpful when cooking outside.
An inexpensive gift idea is to purchase a small flower pot, add a tall pillar candle, and fill in around the candle with colorful shred, small silk flowers, or some of each. Many dollar stores carry all of these items.
Using small
flower pots
as a container for homemade sweets such as cookies, fudge, etc. is another nice idea. Simply add tissue paper first to line the pot. This is a great gift idea for teachers or as a thank you gift.
