Homemade Dog Lover Gift Basket
If you are new at making gift baskets, a dog lover gift basket is a great place to start. The reason is because there are so many options that are readily available and inexpensive.
First, think about the container for the gift basket. There are so many options: a dog bed, pet carrier or crate, food or water dish. A large coffee mug or
tote bag
with dog motif are not containers for the dog, but for the doggie "parent".
If you prefer to use a basket for your homemade dog lover gift basket, place a pillow or a small soft doggie blanket in the bottom instead of disposable filler materials.
It's always nice to make your gift baskets with a specific theme. A rather unique idea is a doggie spa theme. Choose a dog tote (dog carrier) and fill it with bath products such as shampoo, conditioner, bath spritz, bathing sponge, soap-on-a-rope or a bar of soap, a doggie bathrobe, nail clipper, and a brush.
If you are working with a limited budget, go to your local dollar store and look around; you'll be surprised at what you will find. Look for a wicker basket, large coffee mug, or a gift bag for the container. Bows, ribbon, and gift cards are readily available. I've even found bags of shred at the dollar store near me. They usually have lots of pet toys, too.
