If you prefer the makings of a salad, line the colander with a kitchen towel and include salad dressing, an envelope of salad dressing mix, salad tongs, olive oil, red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, a small chunk of grating cheese, and a cheese grater. Another idea is to include a bulb of fresh garlic and a garlic press. Top it off with a couple of fresh lemons for a bright, cheery appearance. Stores like Walmart, Target, and Sam's have seives at reasonable prices. Some dollar type stores carry them also as well as colorful towels, curly ribbon, gift tags, and a variety of kitchen utensils that are nice items to place in a food related gift basket.
