Chocolate Brownie Recipe With Pecans

Try this brownie recipe for anyone who is crazy about chocolate. Or, make some to place in a homemade gift basket.

chocolate brownies Ingredients:
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup sugar
5-1/2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons water
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a small bowl and set aside.

Combine sugar, butter, and water in a medium saucepan. Bring just to a boil and promptly remove pan from heat. Add half of the chocolate chips (1 cup) and the vanilla and stir until melted and mixture is smooth.

Add eggs, one at a time, to the chocolate mixture and mix well.

Gradually stir in the flour mixture, remaining chocolate chips (1 cup), and the pecans.

Spread evenly in a buttered 9 inch square baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow the brownies to cool completely in the baking pan before cutting into squares.

Option: You can substitute chopped walnuts or your personal favorite nuts for the pecans in this brownie recipe.
