Homemade Beer Gift Baskets

beer

Beer gift baskets are wonderful gifts for men. Create these gift baskets for birthdays, for Father's Day, or as a housewarming gift. Begin by choosing a container to hold the gifts as well as cans or bottles of beer. Unbreakable is best and a container that will hold ice and double as a cooler (such as a galvanized pail or tub) is ideal.

If you've never made a gift basket before, you may want to read through my tips that should help you to make gift baskets. You will also find dozens of unique ways to personalize all of your homemade gift baskets.

For a less expensive gift, use a mug or stein for the container. Place shredded tissue paper or shred in the bottom to hold the items in place. Fill the mug with snacks and a can opener.

When selecting an empty basket or other container, think about the number and size of food and other gift items you want to include in your homemade beer gift baskets.

Cans or bottles of beer, drink coasters, bottle/can opener, darts, a deck of cards, pretzels, microwave popcorn, pork rinds, nuts, variety of chips, salsa or dips for the chips, beef jerky, salami, cheese, crackers, and spicy mustard are some food and beer theme gifts you might want to include. Unless you have chosen a huge container, it works better if you use several smaller packages of food items than the jumbo size bags.
Decorative Tips:
  • Start by placing peanuts in the shell or clean straw in your container. This will help hold the items where you want them and help glass items from breaking.

  • If your plan is to make a beer basket for a golfer, use purchased green shred as the filler; or green crepe paper cut in narrow strips will work, too.

  • Burlap is has a rustic look, and makes a nice filler material; use several layers crumpled up to seperate bottles or other breakable items.

  • For a superbowl or world series party, visit a party supply store where you will find lots of inexpensive small items. If this isn't convenient for you, purchase paper theme napkins, open them up, and place them between the bottle of beer.

  • If you are putting together beer items for a New Year's Eve party, place several noisemakers among the gifts.
These little additions can make your beer gift baskets memorable. Look around a dollar type store, a party supply store, or even a drug store for unique little items to include.
