Homemade Barbecue Gift Baskets

Easy BBQ Gift Basket Ideas

Homemade barbecue gift baskets are great gifts for guys on Father's Day, on his birthday, or as an anniversary gift. It's also a good choice as a housewarming gift for a couple moving into a new home.

Choose an unusual container like an unbreakable platter, serving tray, or a tub or bucket which can be used to chill beverages. Wicker picnic baskets, salad bowls, or wood crates are good choices, too.

Begin by placing substantial filler materials in the container; shredded newspaper, straw, or crumpled brown paper are all manly choices. Start arranging the items by placing cans of his favorite beverages throughout the container.

Below you will find several inexpensive bbq gift basket ideas; choose what fits your budget.

Oven mitts and terry towels are not only useful gifts, you can place them next to breakable items as a cushion.

Grilling utensils, bbq sauces, marinades, disposable salt and pepper grinders, hot sauce, a meat thermometer, corn-on-the-cob holders, and bags of snacks are some other gifts that are readily available. If your budget allows, a barbecue cookbook, an apron, and citronella candles are great gifts.

If you don't have much time for planning, purchase an unbreakable salad bowl. Place a terry towel in the bottom to hold the items in place. Arrange utensils, spices, oven mitts, an apron or chef's hat, salad dressing, box or croutons, and cans of nuts in the bowl. Simply tie a wide ribbon around the entire gift and add a gift tag, if desired.

Another option is to make and jar or bottle your own homemade barbecue sauce. To give the bottles or jars a finished look, tie with ribbon, raffia, or twine. Adhere a label to the bottle or jar noting the contents; or tie a label into the ribbon, raffia, or twine. Or, if you prefer, wrap the entire bottle or jar in colorful tissue paper or netting; tie with a ribbon, raffia, or twine to hold the wrapping in place.

Another idea is to make citronella candles which would be nice gifts to place in your homemade barbecue gift baskets or to give as individual gifts.

If there are children in the family, include cans of soft drinks, mixes for lemonade or iced tea, and an assortment of wrapped sweets and snacks. If the children are young, you might include some toys such as bubbles, yoyos, or water balloons.
